We did receive a few UPS shipments of parts for the in-floor radiant heat in the basement. Amazing to think that several thousand dollars worth of parts all fit in those little boxes.
The big box is some pex pipe, and the little boxes contain mainly the manifold parts. We also got a box full of thermostats and some sensors and other things. We're missing the boiler, which is on its way. An Expansion tank and an electronic relay controller were on back order; but basically those parts come in, and we should be good to go on the radiant floor.
So the plan is to get the basement plumbing done first, then we might do the in-floor heat or go for the suplly water lines. We'll see. Shawn did get to work on plumbing a little bit. He fixed up the I-beam that he had cut and made a box beam out of it. I need to take some pictures, so that will have to be for next time if I don't get a chance to do that tonight. Shawn also started working on hooking up the pipe for radon ventilation. I think he then plans to work on hooking up the drain and vent line for the sewage pump. Then do the bathroom plumbing and the bar plumbing, and the basement drainage should be done.
We are also at the same time working on doing some seeding around the house since it is dry enough now to drive the lawn tractor. Shawn took off the snow blower and he needs to get some bolts to hook up this metal thing with spiky wheels over the seeds to push them into the ground. Maybe tonight he'll get some seed down. It's supposed to rain this weekend, so we'd like to get that seed in the ground so it gets going and hopefully keep the weeds at bay. We do need to do some fixing of the grading, but that will have to wait until we can afford to rent the skid loader again.
We also got the lighting plans drawn up and sent them to the electrician. Now we're waiting to see what his quote is going to be. Whether we move into the basement this year or not largely depends on how much it is going to cost to do the electricity. If it fits in the budget, we'll have enough to do drywall and other things we need. I sure hope is within our budget to do it.
That's it for this week. Until next time.
