Last Wednesday, Shawn worked to clear all of the dirt to level out the walk-out side of the grade. He also did some shaping of the grading, and finished filling in with dirt and such. He worked a couple of hours in the morning on Thursday. We left to spend Thanksgiving with SHawn's family and my Grandpa's family as well.
When we arrived on Sunday, we noticed that no work was done on the stoop. It seemed that the flatwork contractor did arrive to drop off materials and tools.
On Monday, Dec 1 it snowed, so no work was done. Tuesday, the flatwork crew installed the 2x6 joists across the stoop and framed up the stoop. At night, Shawn shoveled all of the snow from the basement, since we have to keep it clear so that the framer can work in there, whenever he shows up. He won't start on our project until the stoop is poured, and I quit asking the contractor when he'll get to it.
It snowed yesterday again, so no more stoop work. Today it is going to be cold, high of only 22ºF, but it's supposed to be sunny. But until the temperature gets above freezing, we can't pour concrete.
So, for the next ten days there will be no work done on the house, unless we explore other options with the framer so that he starts to work.
