Rain again

It's pouring over here this morning and it is forecast to rain until Friday. Yesterday Shawn finished designing the loops of pipes that will run hot water through the basement slab for radiant heat floors. He estimated the quantity of pipe that we need, and I ordered 3000 ft of pipe. Last night Shawn went out to the house and began to dismantle braces. He took the wood perimeter board off the top of the wall.

Jon, our contractor, is supposed to deliver a trailer today so that we can load the braces up on the trailer. He is also supposed to get some waterproofing material that we need to install on the outside of the basement wall before the excavator can backfill the dirt around it.
Another thing that we need to do is to remove all of the dirt that fell into the trench around the basement when it rained before we can cover the outside footing drains with more pea gravel for drainage. Otherwise that dirt will just keep washing into the drains and eventually clog them.

The next major thing we need to accomplish is to get the plumber to do his work (but with all this rain who knows when he'll be out there), so we can go ahead and level the pea gravel in the basement. Then we need to cover the floor with plastic to keep moisture from coming up through the slab, then we cover the floor with insulation, and then we install the pipe over the insulation. Once that is all done, the flatwork guy can come and pour the cement for the slab. There is still a lot of work ahead of us.
