Eureka! We've struck sand!

Yeap, that's what we have under our proposed construction site. Also, we've had another delay. It seems that the excavator dug the trench for the back frost wall on the wrong side of the string line. His idea of dumping the soil back in and re-excavating didn't appeal to us. (Good thing Shawn was home when this happened, or they might have just gone ahead and done it and we would have never been the wiser!)

So, Bill, suggested that he can bring his skid loader and correct the problem. He had the excavator dig him a little ramp. It will be more cost for labor to have Bill do this, but since the skid loader can now get in there, we might eliminate one concrete pump cost and just dump the concrete with the skid loader.

Shawn wondered why Bill didn't see upset, and Bill replied that it's Murphy's frost wall: whatever can go wrong, will go wrong. (Vanessa thinks Bill does not mind the extra money for labor either :))

Anyway, the excavator is gone and tomorrow they will finish laying out the footing forms, and hopefully they will pour the footings on Friday. We can start working on laying the block for the frost wall next.
